Health Tips
- Get plenty of rest in the evening with about 7-8 hours of sleep per night. Sleeping on your back or side is best.
- Practice good posture. Walk erect, chin tucked in, shoulders back, stomach in. (Stand tall, walk tall, sit tall, THINK TALL)
- Practice deep breathing every day with plenty of fresh air. Feel your stomach expand on inhalation.
- Exercise daily. Moderate exercise daily is more beneficial than a single strenuous work out.
- Drink at least 8 glasses of water daily, not substitutes like tea or coffee.
Eat healthily; a big breakfast, light lunch and moderate dinner. Include fresh fruits and vegetables and healthy amounts of protein. - Set aside a special time at least once a day for complete mental and physical relaxation.
When experiencing pain…
- Listen to your body. Pain is a warning that should not be ignored.
- Avoid any one posture for prolonged periods since this may lead to a slower recovery.
- If possible move around frequently.
- Use a cold pack in the early acute stages of pain – not heat – to reduce inflammation.
- Avoid heavy lifting, twisting, pushing, pulling or quick jerking. If it hurts, do not do it.
- Do not persist in taking pain relieving medication.
- Consult your chiropractor.
