Health Tips

  1. Get plenty of rest in the evening with about 7-8 hours of sleep per night. Sleeping on your back or side is best.
  2. Practice good posture. Walk erect, chin tucked in, shoulders back, stomach in. (Stand tall, walk tall, sit tall, THINK TALL)
  3. Practice deep breathing every day with plenty of fresh air. Feel your stomach expand on inhalation.
  4. Exercise daily. Moderate exercise daily is more beneficial than a single strenuous work out.
  5. Drink at least 8 glasses of water daily, not substitutes like tea or coffee.
  6. Eat healthily; a big breakfast, light lunch and moderate dinner. Include fresh fruits and vegetables and healthy amounts of protein.
  7. Set aside a special time at least once a day for complete mental and physical relaxation.

When experiencing pain…

  1. Listen to your body. Pain is a warning that should not be ignored.
  2. Avoid any one posture for prolonged periods since this may lead to a slower recovery.
  3. If possible move around frequently.
  4. Use a cold pack in the early acute stages of pain – not heat – to reduce inflammation.
  5. Avoid heavy lifting, twisting, pushing, pulling or quick jerking. If it hurts, do not do it.
  6. Do not persist in taking pain relieving medication.
  7. Consult your chiropractor.
